eToro has recently introduced a new service on the platform called “investing in stocks.” With this new service, investors can use one trading portfolio to purchase different stocks including cryptocurrencies, CopyFunds, ETFs and many other assets.
Since eToro’s launch in 2006, investors have only been able to invest in stock through CFDs. According to Yoni Assia, founder CEO of eToro:
“Now, for the first time, investors can hold stocks, cryptocurrencies, ETFs and thousands of other financial assets in one portfolio. Over the years, we’ve been gradually expanding our offering by integrating more and more tradable assets, and stocks are an important part of this growth.”
What’s in it for investors?
Using the new service, investors will get the following benefits:
- Ability to purchase stocks without paying management fees.
- Access to over 1000 stocks from Asian, European, and US markets.
- Ability to copy from hundreds of experienced investors, and benefit from their knowledge.
- Get competitive and transparent prices.
- Buy stocks in fractions or bulk.
- Receive instant processing and settlement at a fixed price, and many more.
The new service will be available to all countries except for Afghanistan, Angola, Australia, Belarus, Cote d’Ivoire, Congo, Congo Republic, Iraq, Macedonia, Liberia, Libya, Myanmar, Nauru, New Zealand, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Zimbabwe.
However, investors outside of the United States who wish to invest in US stocks will be required to sign a W8BEN form, to show that they are not from the US, and do not pay their taxes to the US authorities.
eToro is a world leading social trading platform for investors trading in currencies, CFD stocks, commodities, and indices. The company aims to give all levels of investors the opportunity to take advantage of the collective potential of the multi-asset investment community in a transparent way.
In 2013, the company promised to do everything it could to ensure that the platform was as simple as possible. As a blog post read: “While we go to great lengths to make our platform as simple as possible, we still thought it would be helpful to present a short guide on trading stocks on eToro.”
